Senior Citizens

A great big thanks to the Big Lottery Fund

The Committee and Members of the Leicester Irish Senior Citizens group wish to extend a great big Thank you for the approval of our Grant Application by the Big Lottery Fund.

The grant will enable the committee to arrange a full programme of events for the year June 2012 – June 2013 which will benefit all members under the items listed in our application.

As you can see we love a sing song and a good knees-up followed by a game of bingo… rock on!

We’re the Leicester Irish Senior Citizens and we like to get together for a good chin-wag a good few cups of tea or coffee depending on your persuasion. We’ll even have a sneaky sherry or three, but only in the evening of course.

As a group, we do like to get out and about. So, whether it’s to somewhere in Leicester, to another city or a day trip to the coast we all enjoy new experiences.
If we have a particularly good time somewhere, we’ve even been known to go back. For instance have you heard of this fabulous little place called ‘Ireland’ we just love going back their, beautiful cities, beautiful architecture and beautiful people – of course I’m being playful, you already know all that. Don’t you?

So just to re-cap – we like to get together for a chit-chat, we like a sing song and a knees-up and we love to get out and about. Other things we like and partake in are quizzes, bingo, raffles and the egg and spoon race – just kidding about the egg and spoon race. Finally, every so often we have a guest speaker, they share their knowledge on particular subjects. So, come along – it’s fun and friendly – rock on!
